I started reading a volume of "Daredevil" comics by Frank Miller and Klaus Jansen that I've been interested in for a while.
I read two issues and they were really good, and I'm very much looking forward to reading more.

During my birthday celebratory lunch, Donny put his hand gently on my mom's back as we all chatted and ate.
This little sign of love just fills my heart with joy. Seeing my mom so beloved by somebody makes me extremely happy and grateful that, despite our MANY political differences and personality differences, Donny is in my life. He makes my mom happy and he's extremely kind and loving to me. We don't always get along and he can be a real crabass, but moments like this remind me how powerfully he loves my mom and is a part of my family. I'm glad he's here instead of my dad. Donny is such a serious upgrade. :)

I do self care Sundays every week as a treat to myself. I buy myself something nice or have a small experience to start my week. I usually do this alone. This week I decided to include my housemate. I had no idea she was feeling low and needed to get out the house. I just thought to introduce her to the idea.
I felt amazing. Something so small as an invitation out to brunch and the mall made a person feel better about the anniversary of her sister's death. She wasn't left alone to overthink and become depressed.

My mother (adopted) called me today to check on me. I am travel nursing and have been away from my family for almost a year. I have missed out on so many events: weddings, family reunions, vacations. I truly miss the little things though like Sunday dinners at my moms house. Today she face timed me to include me in Sunday dinner. I cried. I was so caught up in feeling lonely that it never occurred to me to pick up the phone to call during dinner.
I felt included and part of a family again. Allot of people think adoption is only until 18 yet at 30 this woman still chooses to be apart of my life. She prays for me and sends me little care packages. She made me feel loved.

A patient of mine was feeling ignored about his health concerns. I took the time to explain to him the doctor's notes and he felt like a human being while incarcerated. He felt that because he was an inmate people did things to him not for him.
It felt saddened by his experience. It literally costed me nothing to do. Yet no one else had done it for him.

My girlfriend Meagan reminded me today how far I have come in my journey to lose weight. I have a goal of 100lb. I have already lost 80lb since October. I was trying on clothes for an upcoming trip to Hawaii and began to feel embarrassed. She reminded me that while I'm not at my goal, I am so close to the finish line. She told me how beautiful I was and clothes did not matter.
I was made to feel special and grateful. I was being selfish and she changed my perspective

My grandparents agreed to meet with me and answer some questions to help me with my psychology paper.
Thanks to them, I was able to finish my paper in time and I'm satisfied with how it turned out.

This past season of hockey for my son has been great. He has learned a lot and has grown to be a much better player.
It benefits the joy I have for my sons life and experiences that he gets.

I met Claudia while both of us were on the board of a small non-profit organization. She became and has remained President of the organization for a few years now. I had resigned about a year ago due to an increase in my work demands. Claudia has been a breath of fresh air to the organization- effecting many needed changes in the operational, legal and social aspects of the organization. She's a good human and I am thrilled to have her as a friend.
Gave me a renewed faith in human's ability to help each other voluntarily.

Last night, I set a timer for one hour and spent that time working on a script that I've been wanting to write. I made some good progress.
I've been struggling with writing for a while and I have a lot of stories that I want to get out there, so it was nice to do some work on one such story.

I found out about the Greater Good Science Center a few years ago from a neighbor, and more recently this journaling site.
I now have 2 separate online journals in which to write. I enjoy creative writing.

My neighbor across the hall had me over to watch the State of the Union address given by President Biden earlier this week. So I'm actually thanking both guys.
I was never much into politics up until several years ago. I happen to like this President, because he has said and done good things for the country. So I'm glad my neighbor and I were able to watch together.

My son helped by cleaning his dish when I was him to and placed it in the dishwasher.
Helped me to have less dishes to rinse off and place it in the dishwasher.

On my way back home from class, I texted my mom and asked if she could order breakfast for me, and she did.
I was hungry and I'm grateful that I was able to have a filling breakfast because of her.

A classmate from my English 101 class let me walk her to her next class today, and we had a very nice conversation.
It was nice to have company for a little while and I'm glad that she felt comfortable enough to let me walk with her. It was also a fun conversation.

My mom just made me pancakes with white chocolate and peanut butter chips after I got home from class.
