Today I am grateful for my French Bulldog/Pug Johnny Cash who is always happy to see me even if I've only been out to empty the trash for 15 seconds!
Dogs are amazing and can generally read our moods. They know when we need to be cheered up by their silly antics, or when they just need to sit by our side and nuzzle at our hand. I am so grateful that I can enjoy some pet therapy every day with my faithful, furry companion!

Had the opportunity to be out in the town this morning for a video shoot and rode my bicycle all around town for it. The freedom of getting around by bicycle was so freeing.
The early morning "commute," seeing improvements in my city, feeling the air against my skin and seeing things in new ways was invigorating.

My sister is an excellent cook and she made the most wonderful key-lime pie that I was able to enjoy tonight.
I love key-lime pie but I'm not very good at making it. Store-bought just doesn't taste the same as homemade.

Today I used clean water, multiple times, from several different taps in my home. If I needed it to be cold, it was cold. If I needed it to be hot, it was hot. I didn't have to walk anywhere to find water and carry it back to my house, or boil/sanitize it before I could use it.
Fresh, clean water not only keeps me healthy when I remember to drink the recommended daily intake, but it also allows me to enjoy things like cooking, cleaning, bathing, washing my face and brushing my teeth. Water on demand in several different rooms of my home is a convenience that is not yet available to everyone. I am grateful for this opportunity I often take for granted, especially during this drought season.

Took a drive to the flower nursery nearby. The sun was shining. The weather was warm. I was streaming Latin jazz on my radio. For a moment, everything felt happy and relaxed.
I've been dealing with a lot of heaviness lately. This helped me let go of my worries and take in the moment.

Today I enjoyed the opportunity to sleep in. I was able to go to bed last night without setting an alarm and wake up without the anxiety of feeling like I may have overslept, missed a meeting, or forgotten what time my shift started today.
Being able to enjoy a couple of days off each week allows my body and mind to relax, rejuvenate, and repair itself from the stress of the workweek. Sleeping in for an extra hour (or two) when my body needs it allow me to feel rested, restored, re-energized, and ready to take life head-on. I am grateful that I am able to enjoy time away from work and other responsibilities periodically and that I listen to what my body tells me it needs.

Today I felt extremely grateful that the great state of Texas is keeping these "acid-squirting land lobsters from hell" in their state and not letting them migrate to mine. I mean, what in the fresh nightmare are Vinegaroons? Sounds like something my grandma or a mob boss might yell at someone. "You better watch it you scallywag, you big vinegaroon!"
Technically these devil creatures are classified as arachnids, which, just...nope. I am extremely terrified of arachnids. So I was not overjoyed to read that another one had been added to the family. But knowing they live several states away means I might be able to sleep tonight. So thank you, Texas.

He just gave me the biggest smile. And he looked surprised I stopped. He seemed grateful.
