Today I was asked to check out a venue for an upcoming event. It took me out of my routine and gave me an opportunity to walk in the sunshine a bit. That always makes for a great day.
Being outdoors, even briefly, gives me an expansive feeling.

My sister came into town this week. She can be a handful. But what I really appreciate about her is her embrace of life. She has reminded me this week that this is the same openness of heart that I want to bring to life. I'm grateful for the ways she teaches me to be open.
Because of my sister, I am becoming a more open-hearted person.

My acquaintance has been caring for my father-in-law in his home until Pop passed away the middle of July. He has maintained Pop's home and taken care of so many details that we could not have done from our home over 1000 mi. away. He continues to be supportive, gentle, and helpful with my husband and I as we are working him the home to empty it and prepare it for sale. I am so grateful he is a kind, reasonable, and empathetic person during our challenges with getting the estate settled.
We were unable to personally care for my father-in-law due to distance and the care my own father requires. He acted as a 'son' to Pop in our absence.

I was offered a new position that I agreed to take and I feel it was the right move for me.
I needed to secure a new job, so the benefit is I can pay my bills and that this is a new chapter of my life.

My gratitude goes to my higher power, God. Without God's presence guiding me and my family, life would be chaotic and meaningless. I see God working in my husband's life. XXX is learning more about his father post-hoc, as he works on settling estate matters. His father died in July. My children have found meaningful work and relationships. My father's health is stable at the ripe old age of 96. Life has joys, even when things are sad or scary.
I have hope. Life is joyful. When sadness comes, comfort follows.
