My coworker is going thru difficult times with her son. Today, she thanked me for listening to her everyday and my helpful insights about the situation.
Very grateful that I am being able to help her.

Today is labor day, and the sun is shining in the ocean giving it the appearance of diamonds in the water; I thank GOD for being healthy enough to walk this morning and enjoy that!
It removed some stress...it is tax season!!

I gave Mose a treatment yesterday pro bono. He and his wife are on a fixed income and both have health challenges. He responded to the treatment profoundly, really plugged in to the energy and he had a transcendent experience. He went from completely skeptical to completely sold. Then he thanked me for being a warm and generous person.
It's hard to reconcile when people tell me that but I didn't try and shrug it off either. I feel very fortunate.

I use to feel grateful of the local police. I use to want to be a cop but today things have gotten to the point I stopped donating to the local police. They don't help at all. Especially with my issue of people harassing me while driving. Some are even cops.
These actions don't benefit me and I'm seriously disappointed in the police today. At least my hubby believes me.

The neighbor across the street flagged us down again and snipped some plump grapes fresh off the vines draping their house to give to us. And she hollered over to her husband ("Nonno! The little one is here, come quick") who hobbled outside slowly with his walker, to greet us and give our kiddo another box of candy. It was absolutely delightful.
It was wholesome af and I will remember this forever.

After dinner, the rain began again in a gentle drizzle and we decided to jump into the pool. Quickly got the toddler dressed and went in. I actually jumped in, which I haven't done in decades and the cold water was a refreshing shock that numbed my hands for a bit. We swam and played in the rain, and I floated on my back in rhe water watching the clouds roil and ebb overhead.
It was a sensory pleasure of being alive: the shock of plunging into cold water, the patter of rain and the fresh air and gazing at the sunset clouds overhead.

A then-odd but now-amusing experience at the marketplace yesterday morning. I was separated from the husband and toddler for a bit and wandered around looking for them, loaded with the diaper backpack, and a loaf of bread and bag of tomatoes I just bought. This Indian guy tries to flag me down and I walk away pretending not to notice but he is persistent. Eventually catches up to me at the end of the market and through broken back and forth in patchy English he says he's been living in croatia for four years and rarely sees Indians. Then the predictable part I saw coming about how he's looking for Indian girls (to marry I presume) and he asks if I'm here with family. I'm polite but short throughout the interaction and say nah, here with my husband and baby and this dude says oh! Sorry sorry and scurried away. I laugh about it later with my husband who says "I still got it" lmao
Listen, as much as I am a feminist against gendered objectification/commodification, gotta admit it was a tiny confidence boost that my saggy, tired, mother-of-a-toddler self was noticed. Oh I feel gross writing this, DEFINITELY going to bring it up in therapy. #poor self-esteem #honestgratitudethough
