Despite being ill and not a whole lot of fun, I managed to set aside an hour today to make some art with my 4 y/o daughter. She was so pleased to have that time with me that she threw her arms around my neck, kissed my cheek, and thanked me for painting with her.
It was probably the most effective medicine I've had today.

Two people solicited my opinion regarding home remodeling and an art piece for their home, my son and my former boss.
It was an acknowledgement of who I am and the value they place on my design and decorating skills.

Jillian Holmberg is always helpful, knows just what I need, and is highly effective at her job - I almost never have to cover for her, and certainly do not have to pick up any slack!
I am seen and known and cared for. I can focus on my own work instead of being distracted. She makes me feel likeable and competent.

I have always felt grateful that during the pandemic I have been able to continue to work and support my family. So many lost their jobs and being able to continue to work has been a blessing.
I has allowed me to continue to support my family and not have to deal with the added stress of looking for a job and worrying about being able to support my family.

I drove around in the car that my friend let me borrow and went and treated myself to a coffee. I drove by the ocean and listened to youtube on my phone. I walked around my family's neighborhood and took some photos with my phone.
It reminded me that life is still happening, people are still working, smiling and living. It helped me to get out of the house and see that there is a whole world to be a part of. It was nice to get outside and feel the breeze, that helped my peace of mind a little bit to remember that I am a part of the living breathing planet and society we are in and on. Speaking to my sponsee helped me to remember that it is not all about us and all about controlling experiences in order to prove something or be seen a certain way. I felt a part of society when I went out for a coffee, remembering that I am one of many people living a life, albeit imperfectly.

My friend invited my husband and I over for a BBQ last night- and I'm really grateful for their generosity, kindness, and above all, their friendship.
Her kindness inspired me to make potato salad for the first time and nailed it! :0)

My best friend messaged me first thing Monday morning to wish me a good week and let me know she loves me.
Reminded me of the beautiful people I have in my life that care for me.

I'm grateful that today is the end of my work week! I'm grateful for a "lighter" day, after these weeks and weeks of high censuses and long hours.

I took a walk in the morning fog.
Very pleasant to walk in a cool fog instead of the heat. Much more energy

Grateful for this last year plus of WFH opportunities, as that option is coming to an end next week and I will be back onsite at my hospital full-time soon, I am truly appreciative for the opportunities that I have had.
It allowed me to get to know my neighbors better (without a 2 hour commute, I was able to socialize with them), it allowed me to recognize the beauty of my neighborhood, the gardens and birds, etc.

This morning on what started as a quiet walk around my neighborhood in the still dark morning, I had the chance to witness the sunrise and watch everything slowly wake up and come to life.
It made me "slow down" and appreciate the moment and the beauty around me.
